Spectraforce Technologies is Hiring a Support technician Near Columbia, SC

Title : Workstation Support Technician

Duration : 12 Months, likely extensions

Location : Columbia, SC

Pay Rate : $20 per hr W2

C2 clearance eligibility required.

Required Education : Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job related field. or 2 years of job related work experience.

Required Work Experience : See Education.

Preferred Licenses and Certificates : A Certification

Preferred Work Experience : 1 year-of technical operations support experience.

Day To Day : This position could be building, backing up data, installing software, and deploying new workstations to users in our environment.

Soft Skills : Customer service and communication are the biggest skills needed in this role since we directly work with keeping users productive.

Duties :

Responsible for the installation and configuration of workstation software and hardware for IT users. Learns to identify proper documented procedures and scripts used for troubleshooting end user problems.

Performs software updates and handles moves, computer setup and peripherals from site to site.

40% Maintains workstation hardware and software. Replaces hardware that has become faulty and corrects software issues.

May order replacement parts and track status / inventory of items. Ensures tools and equipment are licensed and approved by IS purchasing.

20% Complete data backups and restorations for users. Assists customers / users and answers questions regarding their equipment.

May perform software testing and evaluation of new software and hardware prior to production.

Required Skills and Abilities :

Strong customer service skills. Able to identify and follow proper documented procedures and scripts used for troubleshooting problems.

Able to provide Tier II support to IT users for basic software and hardware of end-user computing and desktop-based LAN systems.

Required Software and Other Tools : Familiarity with computer and workstation equipment.

Work Environment : Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.

Routine transporting of items up to 30 lbs. Transporting items up to 70lbs on occasion.
